David Markman PhD

Biography

Dr. David Markman is the Vice President of Business Development for PHC. Prior to joining PHC, David was a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he led strategic and operational responses to public health challenges for public- and private-sector clients. This included developing strategic partnerships to help clients forecast COVID-19 transmission, expand testing capacity, and build organizational resilience to future disruptions. David also co-developed enterprise-wide strategies for leading health systems and pharmaceutical companies to maximize efficiency. David holds a BS in Biology from the University of Maryland, a MS in Microbiology from Colorado State University, and a PhD in Biology from Colorado State University, where he advised nascent start-up companies and led multidisciplinary teams to conduct research for public health and biosecurity initiatives in collaboration with the CDC, DoD, US Army, DARPA, NSF, and state health agencies.
